College attendance
You have the option to attend any one of our classes in centres worldwide, where you will meet other students and be taught by qualified tutors. Isf you cannot attend a centre, part or full time, then distance learning is the answer where you will still have contact with a tutor. s

Benefits of distance learning
  1. It is flexible and allows you to select the best time to study to suit your own circumstances. It also provides you the flexibility to remain in full-time employment. You can continue to earn while you learn. It is easy to combine home and work life with distance learning?
  2. You can study when and where it suits you best and you do not need to attend timetabled lectures or tutorials. If your circumstances require it we can help you to take a study break or defer your studies for a short while.
  3. As a distance learning student, you will be registered as a student, get a student card and enjoy the benefits, discounts and final award as full-time students. You will become a student member of the Association of Tourism Executives.
  4. You can contact your local tutor for assistance and advice anytime. Any additional support is included in the normal cost of the programme.
What will happen:
You will receive your course by first class post or use our online facilities. The course text runs into nearly 1000 pages. You can of course print it out yourself in your own time. The advantage of online is that the course is continually updated.
As soon as you have received your course and username/password you can start your online studies. There are no time limits to complete the course. You will be able to look at typical questions so that you can have an idea of the level required.
You will be given the email and address of a personal tutor who will be available during the day and at times during the evening to talk to you if necessary.
At the end of each unit you will complete a multi choice set of questions as well as some written questions. You will then email them directly to your tutor who will mark and grade them. They will be returned to you. If you want to improve your work, the tests can be re submitted. An ATE Certificate can be provided for each module.
If in the unlikely event that you do not pass, we will continue to tutor you free until you do pass.
After the satisfactory completion of all 8 units you will receive the final diploma from the Association of Tourism Executives and ASET, a UK awarding body. You will then be able to show this to employers or colleges as proof of knowledge.

Delivery of course:
Unit 1 will be done first and a short test taken at the end to show proof of understanding. After that anyone of the three further units can be taken. All other three mandatory units however must be completed but the order of units taken can be made by arrangement with ATE or the Centre. The student will have an option to change any of the mandatory units for an optional unit. This may be suitable for students who work for example in the Hospitality Industry where the optional unit Introduction to Hospitality can be taken as a mandatory unit. Students are expected to keep in touch by email or post. Telephone calls can only be made by arrangements with your tutor. Students are advised to use email as a response can sometimes be done within minutes and certainly within a day.

Assessment method
The International Diploma in Travel and Tourism is assessed by means of a written examination. An optional assignment can be done by arrangement with the ATE. The assignment can be organized by the centre tailored to the optional units that the student has chosen. Some centres will have a short online test after each unit to make sure that the student is proceeding satisfactory.

Accreditation certificate
On successful completion of the course a certificate will be provided by ASET as well as the Association of Tourism Executives. Successful students will receive a Pass, Merit or Distinction grade.
